4.0 out of 5 stars helps a lot, but requires lots batteries, August 20, 2011
This review is from: Tanda Zap Acne Clearing Device (Misc.)
If not for batteries, I would give it five stars. It does reduce the number of breakouts and makes the existing ones heal much faster. It is especially helpful for cysts, that are not affected by topical medications such as salicylic acid, sulfur and benzoyl peroxide, and for whiteheads. The only con is that it requires batteries replacement about every 50 uses. I bought a set of rechargeable batteries and it solved the problem.

My skin type: early twenties, moderate acne with occasional cysts.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and too expensive to operate, June 25, 2011
This review is from: Tanda Zap Acne Clearing Device (Misc.)
If you don't mind replacing the batteries EVERY day, this is a great item. Warning! You will burn through three AAA batteries per day with normal use. Research this item before you buy it. It's a better investment to buy the full size, rechargeable unit, because the cost of batteries to run the portable one would cover the difference in price between the portable unit and full size one. Also, note that this unit only runs for 1,000 uses. That's not much when they tell you to use it three times per day per zit. I do not recommend the Tanda Zap.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a way to kill bacteria below the surface, July 29, 2011

This review is from: Tanda Zap Acne Clearing Device (Misc.)
I've been using the TandaZap for about a week and a half and I've already seen an almost complete elimination of emerging blemishes on my face.

My skin type: Mid-twenties skin with a smattering of deep-forming zits that aren't affected by topical creams until they've already breached the surface and become quite large. The combination of blue-light, heat, and vibration really does seem to be preventing the bacteria growth that leads to acne.

Batteries: Yes, this thing sucks down batteries. Buy a jumbo pack of triple AAAs and stop complaining. I'm sufficiently sold on this product that when I hit the maximum 1000 uses I plan to buy the more expensive rechargeable Tanda model.
